Planning Your Wedding Glow? Here Are 10 Things Lancashire Brides Should Know First

Planning a wedding is exciting, but let's be honest, it can also feel overwhelming. Between choosing flowers, picking your dress, and finalising the guest list, your skin and appearance prep can easily get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list.

But here's the thing: your face is going to be in a lot of photographs. And video. And Instagram stories. So if you're considering aesthetic treatments to help you feel your absolute best on your big day, there are a few things you really need to know.

I've worked with countless Lancashire brides over the years, and I've seen what works, and what doesn't. So let me walk you through the 10 most important things you should keep in mind when planning your wedding glow.

1. Start Early (Ideally 6–12 Months Out)

If there's one piece of advice I'd give every bride, it's this: don't leave it until the last minute.

Most aesthetic treatments need time to settle, heal, and show their full results. Some treatments, like skin boosters or microneedling, work best when done in a series over several months. If you're hoping for that soft, glowing skin by your wedding day, you'll want to start planning at least six months, ideally a year, in advance.

That doesn't mean you'll be having treatments constantly. It just gives you time to map out a realistic timeline, recover properly between sessions, and avoid any last-minute panic.

2. Safety First: Choose a Doctor-Led Clinic

This is non-negotiable for me. Your wedding day is too important to take risks with your face.

I'm a GP with years of clinical experience, and I've seen complications that could have been avoided with proper medical oversight. When you're choosing where to have your treatments, make sure you're going to a doctor-led clinic where safety, hygiene, and medical expertise are top priorities.

At Bella Medica Aesthetics, we were awarded Best Medical Aesthetics & Skincare Clinic in Lancashire 2025, and that's not something I take lightly. It reflects our commitment to doing things properly, every single time.

3. Book a Consultation First (Online or In-Person)

Before you commit to any treatment, you need a proper consultation.

This is where we sit down, talk about your goals, assess your skin, and create a personalised plan. Maybe you think you need filler, but actually, a skin booster might give you better results. Or perhaps you're worried about lines, but we can address those with something much more subtle.

I offer both in-person and online consultations, so even if you're busy with wedding planning, we can make it work around your schedule. You can book a consultation here.

4. The 4-Week Rule: Don't Try Anything New Too Close to the Big Day

Here's a rule I tell all my brides: no new treatments within four weeks of your wedding.

Even if a treatment goes perfectly, there can be temporary swelling, redness, or bruising. You don't want to be panicking about a bit of puffiness two days before you walk down the aisle.

Give your body time to heal and settle. If you're trying something for the first time, like lip filler or wrinkle reduction treatments, do it well in advance so you can see how your body responds.

5. Skin Boosters for That 'Bridal Glow' (Profhilo & Sunekos)

If there's one treatment brides absolutely love, it's skin boosters.

Treatments like Profhilo and Sunekos work by deeply hydrating your skin from within. They improve texture, smooth out fine lines, and give you that fresh, plump, "I just had a great night's sleep" glow, even if you haven't.

These treatments are subtle. No one will know you've had anything done. They'll just think you look radiant. And isn't that the goal?

6. Subtle Wrinkle Reduction Treatments for a Natural Look

I'm often asked about wrinkle reduction treatments for weddings, and my answer is always the same: yes, but keep it natural.

You don't want to look frozen in your photos. You want to look like yourself: just refreshed.

Wrinkle reduction treatments can soften forehead lines, smooth crow's feet, and relax frown lines, all while still allowing your face to move naturally. When done correctly, people won't notice you've had anything done. They'll just think you look really, really good.

7. Address Skin Texture with Microneedling

If you're dealing with acne scars, enlarged pores, or uneven texture, microneedling is one of the best treatments you can do before your wedding.

It works by creating tiny micro-injuries in the skin, which kickstarts your body's natural healing process. Over time, this improves texture, tone, and overall skin quality.

You'll need a series of sessions: usually 3 to 4, spaced a month apart: so again, starting early is key. The results are well worth it, especially when you're up close in HD photos.

8. Enhance Your Features Naturally with Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be incredibly effective for brides who want to enhance their natural features without looking overdone.

Whether it's adding a bit of volume to the lips, lifting the cheeks, or smoothing the under-eye area, fillers can create balance and symmetry. The key word here is natural. I always aim for results that enhance what you already have: not change who you are.

9. Lifting Without Surgery: PDO Threads

If you're looking for a subtle lift: maybe around the jawline or cheeks: PDO threads are worth considering.

They're often called a "lunchtime facelift" because there's minimal downtime. The threads are inserted under the skin to gently lift and tighten, and they also stimulate collagen production over time.

I've earned the title "Thread Queen" for my work with PDO threads, and I love how they can create natural, long-lasting results without surgery. Just make sure you schedule this treatment at least 6–8 weeks before your wedding to allow for full healing.

10. Post-Treatment Care & Direct Access to Dr. Nabilah

After any treatment, proper aftercare is essential: especially when your wedding day is on the line.

That's why all my brides have direct access to my advice line. If you have any questions, concerns, or just want reassurance, you can reach out to me directly. I'm here to support you through the entire process, from consultation to your big day.
